The Seaside Narrow Gauge Railway

The Seaside Narrow Gauge Railway is a local tourist attraction that enjoys popularity throughout the summer season on the Gryfice - Trzebiatów route, and until the end of September on Trzęsacz - Pogorzelica.

We enjoyed the journey on this shorter route, viewing the areas of Rewal, Śliwin, Niechorze and Pogorzelica.

The train travels along a well-maintained route among greenery and nice holiday cottages.

"It all started 128 years ago, when on July 1, 1896, our train set off for the first time on its route from Gryfice to Niechorze. It was a breakthrough moment in the history of the Gryfice Land, initiating the dynamic economic and social development of the entire region.

Subsequent eras passed, governments and political systems changed, borders shifted, fashions and generations passed, and the journey on the narrow gauge tracks is still fascinating, as in the times when the railway was the best and most comfortable means of transport.

128 years is a long time, but we are not afraid of its passage, because we know that what is good never loses its value. Today, the narrow-gauge railway is no longer just an ordinary means of transport, but a tourist attraction, part of the historical heritage of this region, still providing its passengers with the joy of riding.”

With the help of European Union funds, the entire route was renovated, paying special attention to the construction of station buildings and platforms.

The whole thing looks imposing (like Jarosław Kaczyński's future candidate for president).
