At home and in the garden
Our garden which saves us with its greenery from the view of the car workshop, got its last arrangement: we unveiled the blooming strelitzias.
They are not as impressive as those from botanical gardens, but they are ours! Bred in spartan conditions.
Last evenings were a little less humid, so we sat on our porch and admired the flowers ...
Adek under the palm tree - like a pharaoh. It's just that he was being fanned by a breeze, not a slave!
From the Wikipedia:
"Royal Strelitzia (Strelitzia reginae Ait.) - a species of large, decorative plant from the strelicidae family, with an original, dorsky structure and contrasting floral colours: orange and blue, resembling the colours of birds of paradise, hence its English name - Bird of Paradise. It comes from South Africa, where it occurs along the banks of rivers and coastal areas. Strelitzia received its botanical name in honour of Charlotta Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III of Great Britain."
