Chiang Mai - Elephants and Tigers
The Elephant Training Centre Maetaeng offered performances with elephants pulling big logs, playing soccer and performing a number of tricks, including painting flowers and self-portraits with the painter's signature.
We were also in the Kingdom of the Tiger where we could make a choice of which size of a tiger we would like to personally fondle with. We chose the medium one because for the large and a very small ones there were long queues. The medium size one could scare us well enough, though.
There remains a topic for discussion: Do those animals like it? Is is for their own good? What do environmentalists have to say?
