A temple in the cave
The town of Pindaya, distant about four hours’ drive from Nyaungshwe, is visited to in order to visit the famous cave where there is a Pagoda Shew Oo Min, is a limestone cave filled with thousands (over eight) gilded statues of Buddha.
Those statues of the great variety of sizes, shapes and materials used to make them, are placed on all possible heights of the walls and vaults of the cave, creating an unusual atmosphere.
