Asiatique
Asiatique is a large outdoors shopping centre in form of a theme park. Situated on the river Chao Phraya, in place of the old transhipment port of, formerly managed by the Chinese.
This is a middle class shopping centre, but you have fun there at any time of the day, if the weather allows.
We happened to have a grey afternoon with clouds forecasting rain.
Asiatique offers a great shopping fun, a great selection of places to eat and typical Thai entertainment.
None of those places, mostly aimed at tourists, grabbed our attention, so we went by boat to a hotel/restaurant overlooking the river, where the atmosphere was almost homey, and the view over Bangkok sensational.
We are not writing about Thai food, because there was a lot about it in our previous entries about Thailand in November 2011 and February 2013.
