The fourth theatre night

THEATRE WSPÓŁCZESNY (operating since 1949)

Added by the theatre , when Maciej Englert was the director.

Wojciech Malajkat has held this position since 2024.

"(...) Englert's Contemporary will not change its shape. (...) it will remain an unfashionable and outdated traditional theatre, ignoring the numbers that are called postmodernist for the psychological comfort of a group of artists. That for the actors of this theatre, the workshop will continue to be a value equal to inspiration. That the Contemporary will continue to describe life above all, not decay. We should sincerely wish for this, because where else would this strangely large, apparently also outdated, audience of the Contemporary, consisting largely of young people who disregard various fashions, go?" Well, I have a problem here!

Is a black comedy supposed to entertain, make you laugh, or moralize?

This time, none of the above criteria were (in my opinion) met.

The performance had one value: Marta Lipińska's acting. Every scene without her participation was weeeeaaaak!

The actress, the Theatre's senikor, continues to captivate with her charm, and above all with her consistently good acting skills.

It was a pleasure to watch her on stage.
