In the TAURUS mountains
The cloudy sky encouraged us to going on a trip to the mountains.
The destination was Green Canyon and the green lake formed by the Manavgat River in the Taurus Mountains.
“(…) It is a mountain range in southern Turkey. It is approximately 1,500 km long and approximately 200 km wide. It consists of a series of often parallel mountain ranges and plateaus descending steeply to the Mediterranean Sea and narrow coastal lowlands.”
We rented a scooter for three days and thus freed ourselves from the need to participate in organized bus trips.
“This green lake is a stunning reservoir of the Oymapinar Dam, that's surrounded by the gorgeous Taurus Mountains and lush landscapes. It's one of the only few canyons in the country that allows boat tours. (…) The cool waters make it a great spot to visit in summer.
Geen Canyon tour is an awesome boat tour to the beauties of nature on one of the worldwide numbered dam lakes in a canyon, the only one in Turkey that allows boat trips. Oymapınar dam (Green canyon) is 23 km away from Manavgat. Oymapınar Dam is constructed to produce electricity. It attracts many local and foreign visitors with its breathtaking scenery and boat trips for years.”
